DoggyFontein is a mobile pet grooming service based in Cape Town, South Africa. We are the responsible party for your personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
2What we collect
When you book with us, we collect:
- Your full name, phone number, and email address
- The address where you would like the groom to take place
- Your pet's name, breed, size, coat type, and any special instructions you provide
- Booking history, payment status, and any notes our groomers add about your appointments
- Limited technical information from your browser (e.g., for booking flow analytics)
3How we use it
- To schedule, route, and deliver your grooming appointments
- To process payments via our payment partner (PayFast)
- To send booking confirmations, ETA updates, and appointment reminders via WhatsApp and email
- To improve our service and tailor recommendations to your pet's needs
- To show your review on our website, but only if you tick the box asking us to when you send it, and only beside a short name you choose yourself. Never your full name, phone number, or email address. Tell us and we will take it down.
- To comply with our legal and accounting obligations
4Who we share it with
We never sell your personal information. We share limited, necessary data with:
- Our groomers, so they can find you and prepare for your pet
- PayFast, our payment processor, to handle transactions securely
- Twilio, our messaging partner, to deliver booking confirmations and updates
- Our accounting partners, where required for invoicing and tax compliance
- Law enforcement or regulators, only where legally compelled
5How long we keep it
We keep booking records for up to 7 years to comply with South African tax and accounting requirements. You can ask us to delete your account data at any time, subject to those legal retention periods.
6Your rights
Under POPIA you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct or update that information
- Object to direct marketing at any time
- Request deletion of your data, subject to legal retention rules
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa)

7Cookies
Our website uses essential cookies to operate the booking flow. We do not use third-party advertising cookies on doggyfontein.app. If we add optional analytics in the future, we will update this policy first.
8Security
Your personal data is stored on encrypted, access-controlled infrastructure (Supabase + Vercel). Payments are handled directly by PayFast on their PCI-DSS compliant infrastructure. We never store your card details on our servers.
